PostSubject: Start of the Death Game   Start of the Death Game Icon_minitimeFri Aug 30, 2013 4:33 am

"Link Start." This was to start the Nerve Gear to enter the Virtual world. Nerve Gear was the cause of a major crisis a year ago with the original Sword Art Online. This was a very dangerous way to play this game but in some options it is the only way. It was time to stop the madness, this was the reason fueling this man to join this game. The original game was nothing but a death game, however now the event was starting all over again and this time Kirito Gekko was on top of this. He decided to join in on the fray and protect as many people as he could without many deaths. This will be the last time Sword Art Online tries to kill anymore people.

Appearing before a large building in some town center, Kirito then began to walk through the town and find out where everything was. The first thing he had to do was form a Guild or a party and begin clearing the floors and get to the 100th floor. This was an urgent mission but funds were needed to form such things efficiently. This was one thing that he lacked in general, that and friends in general as well. While running he noticed a message on his screen showing that he was training a skill called Sprint. He wasn't sure how he was at this point but it really didn't matter at this moment. The more skills he learned now the better. This skill sprinting seemed to be a speed enhancing skill but its real usage was yet to be determined. It was however helping him figure out where everything was in this town so he knew where to go for things. In this town wasn't much but beginner's stuff and he wanted something more and stronger than starter stuff.

"Where the hell is the path to the next town? I need to get there quickly so i can find new armor and weapons to use." He said this as he was running at his top speed past other players who were browsing at items at the shops.

Once he got halfway through town he realized he was going in a complete circle for the last five minutes. This annoyed Kirito knowing he has been going the wrong way for the last ten minutes. "I guess a person's sense of direction carries over into this world as well." Knowing he had a terrible sense of direction this wasn't going to be fun at all. The path to the next town had to be near by. It was so close he could sense it but he didn't want to get full of himself. He then looked around and sat down on a bench to open his menu when he heard some screams coming from somewhere. Standing up in a hurry he then looked in the direction it came from and he then heard it again.

"Someone come help us!!!!!" Kirito didn't waste anytime after hearing these cries for help he sprinted for them right away. He knew this was going to be bad if people were screaming in terror of whatever was going on. Following the noise instead of his own sense of direction he then ran down a few ally ways and then turned onto a main street. This street lead to the main teleporting stand in the center of town. Once he got on the right street he began to be able to see the commotion going on. It was a pack of Boars blocking the exit out of town and they were angry. There were three of them blocking the exit out of town and Kirito was wondering why they were this close to the safe zone and why here. He then looked over at the men standing around, none of them looked to be strong enough to fight these things. Kirito raised his left hand slowly to his swords handle and then took a small step forward and then held out his left arm. "Everyone Stand back, I shall handle this by myself. So please do stand clear of this fight." He then pulled out his sword and prepared to fight these strange pigs and gain entry to the path going to the next town.

The pig's hp bars began to show and each one was only a level one type of monster. A strategy had to be made before going in at them at once. The limit that Kirito could pull off was very low right now so he had to think of a good battle strategy to at least hold them off. Attack the center one with all strength and when the other two came in he had to make it so those two were immobile. He then figured it out. If he used his speed from his sprinting skill he could get next to the one on the right and kick it into the one on the left. Thus keeping those two busy long enough to defeat the first boar without any problems. "Right, here i go!"

Using his sprinting skill he then appeared next to the boar on the right and kicked it as hard as he could which sent it into the other boar on the far left as he planned it. This was the opening he needed to continue this battle without any problems. The other boar then charged at Kirito with his full strength but as he got close Kirito raised his sword to shoulder length then stabbed it into the boar's face. Watching the boar's hp bar drop about 80 points showed what damage Kirito could do to it. Kicking the boar away Kirito then thought and calculated how many times he would need to defeat the creature if he could do 80 damage each time. "So if i do 80 damage each time, and its max is 250 just like me then..... three more attacks should do it." Kirito knew that his stamina was limited due to being only Level one but he planned this and decided not to use his sword skills. However if he used one of them then it wouldn't be too bad. He managed to gather information on ever boss up to Floor 75 from a man named Kirigaya Kazuto who played as a solo player up until the 74th floor boss. This information is helping Kirito get by this without even trying really. "Just like Kirigaya Kazuto I shall defeat the final boss and free everyone!" Kirito then charged in with all of his strength and slashed the side of the boar catching it off guard.

Kirito stood still for a moment then got hit in the back which made him fall forward onto the ground. For some reason he froze up and couldn't finish the fight. His body began glitching as he was on the ground. The meant something was happening to his internet connection. Something had to be wrong and if he didn't do something soon he was going to die.

Standing in the back with a large cape over him giving him a shadowy figure, Klein watched on as this strange man kept on fighting the boars blocking the way. He seemed to know what he was doing so Klein stood still. This was until he watched on as the man fell to the ground and began to have static problems. This was a sign of severe lag and had to be fixed quickly. Quickly reaching for his sword at his left waist he drew it out and held it over his right shoulder.

"Guess it is my turn to fight these monsters." His sword then began to glow and he charged forward with an explosion. Striking at the boar that was fighting that strange man which made it vanish and some message on gaining experience appeared with an item drop. Klein then turned to the man and spoke to him on the subject. "I shall hold those other two off, you get your lag problem under control. These freaks are mine."

He slung himself at the other two boars and held them down with his sword. He couldn't fight these two evenly with such a weak sword. All he could hope for would be to get that other guy to help him fight at this point. All things seemed to be coming to an end here but all that was needed was that final push. "Hurry up will you! I'm not superman here!"

Start of the Death Game Empty
PostSubject: Re: Start of the Death Game   Start of the Death Game Icon_minitimeTue Sep 03, 2013 5:41 am

After so long Talbot had arrived in this world which he could have only dreamed of up until this point. Compared to the net games he was oh so used to in the past it was like the same as reality in comparison between the simple net games he had always played and this, Sword Art Online, which he was beyond excited about.

He was genuinely overwhelmed with an indescribable feeling to go out and simply train and train working to create a character in this new world which would be much like the berserker characters he was so fond of in the net games he had played before. upon signing up for the game when face with all the options available for starter equipment and such he decided based on what would make him feel the most like a berserker in his opinion. That being his weapon of choice was a Two-Handed Sword which he had always favored over higher damage options such as the two handed axe due to the several possibilities available to a Two-Handed Sword that weren't available to an axe. Of course in the net games this didn't play much of a part but in this game which was another world entirely where he had free control over his attack patterns and such in a way unlike anything before so it seemed almost like a necessity for him to have this sword. Other than the sword he was allowed to choose from a few different armor sets to determine his protection level, and by seeing the list he knew almost right away that he would choose the leather armor. He felt that his goal was to deal more damage than another could faster than they could in an unpredictable way so having armor which was light and allowed free movement fit him perfectly.

For the past while he had been wandering through the streets of the starting city, simply searching for an exit to get out to find a weak monster to learn this game on like he had on all the other games he had played. But before that, he used what knowledge he learned from reading the manual to help him at this point.

The first thing that came to mind was his skills. With that thought in mind he touched his index finger to his thumb in front of him and pulled down. When he did so he heard a ringing sound, Immediately, without giving any other thing in his menu a thought he touched the Skills sub-menu bringing down five slots. One of which was already taken by his Two-Handed Sword Skill. Other than the first one it seemed he had four more slots to fill, seeing this already large number of skills available brought a slight smile to his face. He figured he could safely choose to fill a couple now with so many, and he assumed he would get even more as time progressed and he leveled to stronger levels. With that in mind he selected his second slot and went down the list of skills reading them all and came across parry. It seemed like a simple skill but he felt it to be one of the most important defensive abilities available to him at this time.

Then about the time that he selected "Okay" to set that as his second skill he heard a nearby scream. He couldn't make it out exactly but it wasn't too far from here. And without a doubt at the source of those screams was a situation that would be interesting, just what he was looking for.

Wasting no time Talbot headed off at a quick pace to reach the source of the scream. To his surprise it originated from an area, the city gate, which he had already been searching for while roaming the streets of the starting city. There was a small crowd gathering around the area which had two people, one collapsed and another in combat, and two animals in the middle. Through the crowd he couldn't make out exactly what animal it was, but he already knew it should be extremely weak for it to be close enough to even invade the starting city, but even then the starting stats of the players shouldn't make it too easy to defeat the animals two on one.

Out of curiosity Talbot worked his way through the crowd towards the center to get a better look. The person collapsed seemed to be having some difficulties on his end of things causing problems and the other person seemed to be defending him from the two animals which seemed to be boars. This was about all he could make of the situation at the moment.  But after watching more he could tell the person in front of him fighting these two monsters was struggling. Not because he lacked the skill so to speak but purely because of the numbers.

*
This was when Talbot finally stepped out of the crowd with the intention of helping the person defeat the monsters that made their way to the starting city somehow. As he stepped out of the crowd approaching the person to help for the first time he got the chance to draw his sword which was positioned on his right hip. Despite this being his first time drawing a sword in the game or reality as the blade was drawn from it's scabbard he felt a feeling that could only be described as right. With this large Two-Handed Sword in his hands right now he felt as though he had wielded for years beforehand. This feeling, it caused him to crack a smile which most would find odd in this situation.

At this point he had walked between the player who was defending the other collapsed player and one of the boars. Looking at it he could see above it the cursor, name, and how much health was left. It seemed that this monster was a "Frenzy Boar". As he examined this the boar was charging directly at him, with the other player directly behind him he couldn't dodge the incoming attack and he didn't feel the need to parry it so as the boar approached even more he took his sword and pointed the blade at the ground with the bottom of his right hand against the guard with his left on top of it aiming the tip of his sword at the ground.

Then about the time the boar was a foot away from him he thrust his blade in to the ground using the side of his blade to stop the Boar entirely. As the Boar collided with his blade you could hear the monster grunt.

Since Talbot had stepped in to help on once had he looked back to check on the person he was originally helping in the first place. But even without looking he couldn't help but assume this person was fine due to the fact he had yet to take an attack from behind so he continued to focus on the boar in front of him.

Talbot watching the Boar carefully waited until the boar stepped back to adjust his grip on his sword for him to pull it out of the ground and return to a ready position with him holding it center in front of him. As he did so the boar turned around to put some distance between the two and charge but Talbot didn't want to give the Boar a chance to do so. About the time the Boar started turning to go back and start it's charge again Talbot had already begun his strike. He attacked with a horizontal slash aimed to hit the Boar in the back of the neck.

Quickly the blade swung down connecting almost exactly where it was intended to hit. Then in one attack he saw the boars health go from a full green bar down to about forty percent of what it used to be from one attack. At this point in time Talbot was looking to find an opening in the Boars attacks to deal a finishing blow to the boar in front of him and check on the person which had collapsed and the people he had only just recently noticed were positioned a bit away from the crowd which hadn't completely surrounded them. Seeing these people he assumed that they were nearly attacked by these very same boars that they were fighting at the moment and one of them were likely the person who screamed drawing him to this area in the first place.

Then the sound of the Boar moving about could be heard drawing his attention back to the fight currently going on and away from his surroundings which it had drifted to. To his surprise even though this was more than likely the weakest monster in the game even it changed it's pattern a bit  to a pattern which involved it walking back and forth looking for an opening to attack.

Seeing this made Talbot overjoyed to see what was happening and he started to look forward to the higher levels with the more complex monsters, the game had already made a good impression on him and he only had high expectations of what was ahead. But unfortunately this wasn't the time for this. The Boar saw an opening because of Talbot's carelessness in letting his mind wander and it charged. This time unprepared for the attack he had to act quickly. To quickly jam his sword in to the ground behind him and turn side ways lowering his body to brace for impact was about all he could do. When he received the attack he could see his health bar displayed in the top left of his vision drop by about a quarter of what it was.

Seeing himself take damage brought out that side of him that was much like the berserker he liked so much. Though he only liked it so much in the first place likely because he could relate to the character. Not even thinking about his actions at the time acting on pure instinct he unleashed an attack. Having taken the attack from earlier with his right side he took hold of his Two-Handed Sword with the bottom of his left hand pressed against the guard this time he began to push his blade around him. As he started to do he reached over with his right hand and began to pull the blade by the free space left on the handle dragging the tip of the blade across the ground around to the boar which just attacked him. Then in one quick attack he sliced the Boar right in two. At first he would have normally expected blood to splatter everywhere but instead the cut through the boar began to glow bright red and then the boar itself shattered in to several polygons and disappeared seconds later. As it did a window popped up in front of him. It listed that he received twenty five experience and twenty col for defeating the boar. Besides that it also said he received a couple of items which were a boar tusk and boar meat. Now feeling that his part in this fight was over he sheathed his sword back at his side and turned to check on the other two as he closed the experience window.

Kirito laid there on the ground glitching out due to the lag of his internet connection as he watched a capped man arrive and take out the boar. This shocked him since he told everyone to stand back and stay out of the way. This was an outrage that he had to accept help from others at this point. This was a failure since he couldn’t solo this fight. Finally regaining his movement he punched into the ground as a second person appeared into the fight. He then yelled at both of them as if they were in the way. “Both of you get back! I will not accept you guys fighting this battle until you prove that you can handle it! I will not allow people to get hurt or die during this game and i will use all of my strength to do so!”

Grabbing his sword he then charged in at his full strength and kicked the boar away from the capped man then leaped into a battle position. “Both of you stay out of this, I shall finish this alone.” Gripping his sword he then held it out in front of him then charged in at full speed. His sword made a howling sound as it was swung at full force through the air at the boar who was right in front of him. The boar charged in and hit Kirito in the lower legs causing him to lose a bit of hp but this didn’t stop him from taking his sword and stabbing it into the boars back. After doing so he jumped over to the right side and landed on his back. The boar managed to catch his legs just as he got out of the way. That action caused him to lose balance and land the way he did. Only thing this did was cause him to get angered at the boar but quickly calmed down since he was only here to kill it. “This must be a field like boss of sorts, never thought starter monsters would be this strong.” He knew this had to end so everyone could get to the next town without any issue to them getting there. Looking up at the sky and feeling the wind flow gently to the northeast he knew that he could try that. He was about to attempt something to attack the boar and manage to kill it. This was a mission that he had to take on his own to prove that he could be as strong as Kazuto. “Alright you fried bacon dinner, time to end this.”

Kirito then held his sword out as if he was building up muscle mass for this next attack. In actuality he was focusing on his plan and plotting his movements. He then looked into his mind and imagined the battle. Him flanking the creature on the right and attacking him from behind or using his speed. Within moments it was decided on how he was doing it and he then opened his eyes and then charged up his sword. This one time he was going to use his sword skill and take down this beast. Placing his right foot forward and pushing his left foot back he then prepared to launch this attack.

“Get ready you boar freak, cause I’m about to rock you…. like a hurricane.” Pushing his left foot back some more then forcing his right to push forward he launched at the boar. This speed was amazing but the boar still managed to run at him as well. This however wasn’t a problem, the wind was blowing in his favor and this was his chance. He leaned his body over to the left and held his sword out across his body to stick out over his left side. The boar and Kirito crossed paths halfway and Kirito’s sword managed to cut off its left tusk and left a gash in its body. The boar managed to cut Kirito’s left leg but it wasn’t serious right now. Finishing the attack Kirito stood straight back up and then turned around facing the boar.

He knew that this battle was about to end but this soon was such a bore to him. The battle was only just getting started, this was far from over. “You better not die on me yet, I still have yet to make my last move still, do try to survive until i finish it.” Holding his sword out and his right hand on the very tip of the hilt he then held out his left hand and prepared to attack. This was a sword style he used in the real world when he was in tournaments during his youth years. With his right hand he was to attack and put force into his sword with. The left hand was to be a guide for the sword to guide it to its target swiftly. This was a sword style he created while in kendo class when he was 15 years old. It’s an imperfect way to fight and leaves many openings but it is effective when used properly. Kirito then activated his sword skill to add some damage to his attack and could only hoped this fighting style worked here like in the real world.

“Alright, keep left and right legs in proper position, aim carefully and…. Attack!” His sword skill exploded with power as he then charged in at the boar at full speed. The boar attempted to jump to the left of Kirito but it was too slow at this point. While in the air Kirito struck the boar from underneath and swiped it in half. A clear clean cut right through it making it vanish within the matter of seconds opening a experience notification. Kirito stopped before he walked into the crowd and waited for him to catch his own breath before speaking. “Alright everyone heading to the next town begin walking. I shall be your guide.” He then turned to the other two who assisted him and bowed. “Thank you for the assistance. May we meet once more on the battlefield.” Keeping his sword out he then began to walk with the main group of people heading to the next town to do their shopping or head home. Kirito was determined to get to the next town and become stronger than ever. His goal was Kayaba or whoever was at the top and kill them, this wasn’t just a dream it was a promise.
